One Response to “Music of the Array Mbira”

  1. The Array mbira is much more than just another variation on the African mbira. In fact it is the largest and most complex lamellaphone ever made.  It is used wordwide by professional musicians, recording artists and film composers. The note arrangement and tonal qualities are so unique and rich that it was recently professionally sampled for an extensive virtual instrument program. Array mbiras are  meticulously handcrafted works of art produced in very small quantities. There is usually a waiting list to obtain one.
